Bellingham is a small market town situated on the North Tyne River surrounded by fine walking country. It is possible to join the Pennine Way from here. Hadrian's wall is 9mS, Kielder Water 8mW, and Hexham 17mS.

Country hall in spacious grounds with river frontage, 22 bedrooms and three suites all with bath and shower - 5 family, 16 double/twin, 4 single. All rooms have colour TV, direct dial telephone, hospitality tray, iron and baby listening services. 10 rooms, classed as superior, have either four poster beds or balconies overlooking the river. Three suites with lounge, bathroom, bedroom and kitchen (two suites have two bedrooms and two bathrooms) are available in Riverdale Court situated in the grounds of Riverdale Hall with magnificent views over our cricket field, the North Tyne river and Dunterley Fell - also available for self-catering. Restaurant with AA rosette, RAC merit award and Les Routiers Gold Plate, two lounges, bar, indoor swimming pool with sauna, log fires. Parking for 60 cars. Cricket field, salmon and trout river and Bellingham's renowned 18-hole golf course opposite.

Self Catering at Riverdale Hall Hotel

Four purpose built stone apartments just 30 yards to the south of the main hall. The two first floor apartments, BLAKEY and GRAHAM suites, have balconies overlooking the cricket field, the North Tyne River and bridge and Dunterley Fell (Pennine Way). These apartments sleep 6 and comprise of open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms with twin beds (double beds available on request) and two bathrooms with both bath and shower. Two extra single beds fold down from elegant wardrobes in the large lounge. Up to three additional ensuite bedrooms may be joined into the Blakey giving the flexibility of this apartment sleeping up to 12 persons.

There are two ground floor apartments. The ABRAHAMS has two bedrooms (twin or double as required) with the larger bedroom easily accommodating a family of three, one large bathroom with bath and shower, an open plan lounge, kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area plus garden area with patio. An extra single bed folds down from an elegant wardrobe in the lounge.

The MILBURN has one large bedroom (twin, double or family of three), one bathroom with disabled facilities, an open plan lounge, kitchen (with dishwasher) and dining area with two extra single beds (one folding down from a wardrobe). Car parking is adjacent.

There is free use of the indoor pool and sauna and all other hotel facilities. For walkers Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water and Forest, Norhtumberland National Park and the Pennine Way are all nearby. For golfers the highly regarded, and host to county matches, Bellingham 18 hole Golf Course is opposite the hotel with Hexham, Minto (Scotland) and Slaley Hall all within easy driving distance.

The apartments were designed and constructed by John Cocker who transformed Riverdale Hall Hotel in 1979. It is the Cocker family's 28th year at Riverdale.

Self Catering at Riverdale Hall

Riverdale Cottage

This ground floor two/three bedroom cottage is joined to the west of the main hall, only a few yards from the indoor swimming pool. Although it is a self-catering cottage, its location is particularly attractive to those wishing to take advantage of having the hotel's facilities right on the doorstep. It is ideal for families.

The cottage sleeps 6/7 and comprises of one small double bedroom and one large twin/double bedroom which may sleep 3. These bedrooms have use of a shared bathroom with both bath and shower. The cottage has an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. A third double/twin bedroom, if required, enjoys an ensuite shower room with toilet.
