John Cocker and Iben Cocker celebrate 28 years at the Riverdale Hall hotel in 2006.

Iben Cocker has been head chef at the award winning restaurant for 25 years.

"My favourite time of year is winter, cold but clear blue skies, long walks with woolly hats and then returning to log fires. Hot toddies, good broths, roasts, hot curries, with sticky toffee pudding to finish. A day at the point to point or local races, or simply picking a few nags from the paper while enjoying the warmth of the TV lounge. Guests enjoy good out-of-season rates. Old friends visit knowing I have the time to spend with them and my life becomes more that of a country squire, rather than an over worked Basil Fawlty."
